The eldest son for HRH Prince Mohammad bin King Faisal (I) of Iraq El-Hashemite and HRH El-Sharifa Fatima El-Hashemite.
Prince Adel was born in January 1961. He is the First Royal Prince to graduate with a PhD in Bio-Organic Chemistry. Earned his PhD degree before the 24th birthday and is considered the youngest to graduate with a PhD from University of London with professorial qualification. As a research scientist, to his credit, there are multiple registered inventions and developmental research that greatly contributed to the advancement of nuclear medicine, agriculture and other environmental fields such as civil engineering and construction.
Following in the steps of his father, as a dedicated educator in 1982, under the aegis of the Royal Academy of Science International Trust and development affiliates, Prince Professor Adel submitted official recommendations for the set-up of regional governmental research centers on Sustainable Development.
In 1983: In partnership between RASIT and the Ministry of Education, Kuwait University, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR), Kuwait Oil Corporation – R&D Labs Division (KOC) introduced experiential-scientific internships programs for university students from the Arab Countries.
In 1984, Under special collaboration between RASIT and the Gulf Cooperation Council, developed and introduced special educational television programs in fields of and Fun Chemistry to educate and promote youth involvement in science.
In 1984: To reduce the educational gap between developed and underdeveloped countries created the “RASIT Undergraduate Foundation”, a specialized educational program under which students with certificates from Non-British Commonwealth Countries get GCE recognition and acceptance to further their university undergraduate degree in British Universities and Higher Ed Institutions. In 1986: this program was implemented in various British and Middle Eastern universities and later on, in 1989, the concept and program were adopted by the British Ministry of Education under the name of “GCSE”.
In 1986: He established the Youth Sustainable Development Studies Center.
In 1988: For professionals and those who are unable to attend the traditional classroom Introduced RASIT’s Post Graduate Program for “Education & Learning by Distance.”
Subsequently, from 1989-1998, Launched several major programs including the RASIT Students Financial Aid Program “RASFA” and “Royal Card Financial Aid” in answer to the British Government’s financial conservancy and as an alternative solution for students in Britain to help pay for their advanced degrees.
Towards the end of 1998-Current: Prince Adel left academic life to focus on his own private consultancy firm.
