RASIT’s highest appreciation honor, the Profound Award, recognizing the distinguished accomplishments, highly notable commitments, and dedication to ensuring equity and inclusion in all spheres of science and arts as the center for social-economic sustainable development and multilateralism.


By the mere nature of the Recipient profession, it is important to demonstrate helping humanity through his/her position or profession, day in and day out.


Recipient accomplishments to be reflective to the philosophy of RASIT’s Founder and a true testament to the influence of one of his most famous quotes “The whole world is like a single integrated family unit, each individual star making his or her own contribution to humanity, whether in terms of resources, culture, economic means, diplomacy, or others., that will effectively contribute to international peace and prosperity”.

H.E. Mr. Francisco Duarte Lopes of Portugal





A career diplomat, he began his professional service as an attaché in the Foreign Ministry’s Consular Section in 1989, before being posted to Pakistan from 1993 to 1995. He served at Portugal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Lisbon, where he was promoted to the rank of Ambassador in December 2015.


He had previously assumed several positions including the rank of Political Director, Director-General for European Affairs, Chief of Staff to the Secretary of State for European Affairs, and the diplomatic adviser to the Prime Minister. Ambassador Lopes was the coordinator at Portugal’s Permanent Representation to the European Union, where he was previously Counsellor in charge of Institutional Affairs. From 2003 to 2004, he was Director for Institutional Affairs at the Foreign Ministry. Prior to that he served as an adviser to the Secretary of State for European Union Affairs from 2002 to 2003. He headed the Ministry’s Human Resources Section between 2000 and 2002 and served as Chargé d’affaires at Portugal’s Embassy in Denmark from 1995 to 2000.


Prior his Current appointment as the Ambassador of Portugal to the United States of America, Mr. Duarte Lopes has served as permanent representative of Portugal to the United Nations from 2017 to 2022.


Mr. Duarte Lopes holds a law degree from the Faculdade de Direito de Lisboa.
