MORE

TEACHERS

Globally, the teaching profession is the least respected profession. In addition, Teachers experience several conditions that render the schools, such as is the lack of access to adequate funding, equipment, materials, and -in many countries -infrastructure, access to water, or other related facilities.

The widespread severity of teacher shortages, particularly in Science and Mathematics, suggests the need for more vital, energetic, and dynamic policies and action plans to address the recruitment and retention of teachers in these areas that are so linked to the development of competencies and skills in scientific fields and sustainable development.

UN FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM

Since 2010, RASIT Operations at the United Nations, has created a unique program for youth and professionals interested in deepening their understanding of international affairs and the practical facilitation of intergovernmental cooperation.

The RASIT Operations at the United Nations Fellowship Program offers a small group of outstanding individuals the opportunity to acquire direct exposure to the work of the United Nations and RASIT.

Through working directly with RASIT Operations Staff at the United Nations Headquarters: New York, Geneva, and Vienna, the Fellowship Program is a way of helping Youth and Professionals understand the importance of the United Nations goals, principles and activities. It further encourages Youth and Professionals to participate in international policy development and relations more actively.

RASIT’s commitment to inclusive and accessible education, which is part of the its strategy framework, aims to provide all students with equal opportunities to reach their full potential. RASIT recognizes the importance of this in its education scheme, learning solutions and in addressing harmful stereotypes or limited perspectives.

TOWARDS KNOWLEDGE SOCIETIES

At a time when so many international decisions are being made based on science, it is becoming increasingly important to inform the public about the issues at stake.

Based on RASIT’s Executive Director, HRH Princess Nisreen El-Hashemite, collective data on science, education, research, and public knowledge, The Science Café was signed into being in 2005 as an international Program of RASIT for the Popularization of Science and Innovation.

The main objective of the Science Café Program is to generate scientific temper among the masses and make the people think, scientifically at every stage and happening in their day-to-day life to make their lives easy and simple. This can be achieved by encouraging the spirit of inquiry among the younger generation, creating awareness about new scientific approaches and technologies, fostering creativeness, and many more methods by organizing carefully drawn activities and events.
